Join Us
- A qualifying student should have attained at least advanced freshman standing.
- Must be fully matriculated in a school of economics or business or be specializing (majoring) in business (in a college or university where there is no separate school of business); or be specializing in economics (economics majors are eligible for membership whether or not that department is in the school of business or the school of policy studies).
- Business education majors are eligible for membership in Phi Chi Theta if they are registered in the school or department of business and are under the jurisdiction of that school or department.
- A qualifying student may be either an undergraduate or a graduate student and may be attending either the day or evening division of the college or university.
- A qualifying student must have expressed a firm intention to complete the course and to secure a degree, bachelor's, masters, or doctorate. Students who are working for ONLY a two-year certificate (associate in arts degree) are not eligible for membership in Phi Chi Theta.
- A qualifying student must have attained the grade point average required for graduation from the university.
- In numbers one and seven above, rules of the school prevail if there is a conflict with the rules of Phi Chi Theta.
- No student may be elected to membership in Phi Chi Theta if he/she is a member or former member of another national professional fraternity in the field of business which is a member of the Professional Fraternity Association ( i.e. Alpha Kappa Psi, Delta Sigma Pi). Any Phi Chi Theta who joins another such fraternity in competition with Phi Chi Theta shall be dropped from the membership rolls and be requested to return the Phi Chi Theta badge by the Executive Director.

What are the Requirements?
1. 3.0 GPA or better
2. Fully matriculated in a school of economics or business
3. Must not be a member of another business fraternity (Major-specific fraternities
are acceptable, e.g. Beta Alpha Psi)
What if my GPA drops below 3.0 while a member of Phi Chi Theta?
As a brotherhood/sisterhood we will also provide a number of people who can help you in difficult subjects. We will not inactivate you if your GPA drops, we will help you.
Is the Fraternity just for males?
No, this is a coed fraternity. In fact, we were founded by 6 women in 1929. We are currently comprised of approximately 50% males and females.
How often do you meet?
We have one fraternity-wide meeting per month and one Officer meeting per month. We have many training events and other social events which allow us to meet much more frequently.
How much will it cost?
1. One-time registration fee of $45
2. Annual Local & National dues currently total $140
3. Please consider the opportunity costs of not joining
How many members do you have?
We currently have approximately 50 members in the Upsilon chapter at Georgia State University and Nationally we have over 1900 members.
Do you offer scholarships?
Yes, we offer three Chapter scholarships and six national scholarships which can be up to $2000.
